Origami

In love with this origami jewellery by French designers Claire Naa and Arnaud Soulignac-

HANDSOM

My brother and his girlfriend Sam have been designing in Australia for the past three years and are now on their fourth collection. Of course I am going to be slightly biased as it's my brother, but I would honestly wear it all and I can't see what's not to like. Their designs have a strong English aesthetic and feeling of heritage. What I love is their attention to detail, from the little handsom buttons to the quirky pockets, items are simple but key. Not to mention their deliciously painted sandals and fun swimwear.  Everyone should have a bit of handsom in their summer wardrobe.

So already we are onto the next project. Good job the first couple of weeks involve sitting in bed and watching lots of films. It's a group project where by we are each assigned a role; Director and product assistant. Then given a..
Designer- Alexander McQueen menswear &
Director- Shane Meadows.
From this we must create a film/commercial in the style of the above. Got a pretty amazing set of influences to go on so hopefully we will create something worth watching....

FILM

Over the last few days I have watched a series of fairly depressing films... all worth a watch, but don't expect a happy ending. I wanted to re-watch a film I hadn't seen in about 8 years-

The Virgin Suicides, directed by Sofia Coppola. Beautiful cinematography and very emotive...

I then thought I would cheer myself up with a little love story... maybe not.....

Blue Valentine

Made so beautiful by the acting; Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling were made to live with each other before shooting the film to build on their relationship. This definitely shows and although there isn't much of a story line, it all feels very real.  Ohh it was a tearjerker

I then added Never Let Me Go to the list and weeped some more...
